The house maintains the traditional architecture of the Alentejo region. Its walls are very thick keeping the house cool in the warm seasons, and fresh in the summer. Outside, the pictures painted blue stripe and the beautiful big chimneys. Each of our rooms has a different theme, inviting you to explore the arts of cork extraction, olive and grape picking or bread making. At the living room you’ll find a huge fire place to sit by in the long winter evenings and also wireless internet, an honesty bar, books, music, television, DVD’s and games. It has all the comfort of a modern house in a rustic and genuine atmosphere, where nothing reminds you of a guesthouse. At our farmstay, you will feel at home. To see the prices click here. PRICES.
The farmstay is only 8 kms from the world heritage city of Évora. From here you can walk along the 16th century aqueduct or cycle to the city or to the charming village of Graça do Divor. To complement the moments of «dolce fare niente», we offer you the possibility of exploring the Alentejo in one of Turaventur’s adventure or historical trips.
THE HOUSE
THE GARDEN
The garden is pleasant in all seasons. It’s very green and fresh, with a nice swimming pool to refresh your spring and summer days. It’s sunny and shady, and there are plenty of birds singing for us. There are several private corners to sit and relax, and hammocks and pillows spread around. At our deck read a book or order a gin and tonic.
Make sure to visit our Classic Car museum, a unique private colecction and an exclusive experience!
Surrounding the garden there are Olive trees and Holm Oaks.
THE FARM
For us, the house and the farmhouse are two faces of the same reality. You can walk around the countryside, play with the dogs, help treat the donkey, the sheep and the chickens, have fun with the jumping and running of the lambs. Choose your place to be outside and rest as you like to rest. Whenever possible, we will be happy to share with you the products of our organic garden.
OUR MEALS
At the dining room you will have breakfast looking at the orange orchard. You will taste our homemade jams, cottage cheese with olive oil and oregano or with honey and walnuts, homemade bread and cake. Also, we have regional cheeses and chorizos not missing, off course, the unforgettable Alentejo bread.
The oranges for the juice came straight from the outside. From the orchard we pick the fruit for your breakfast and from the vegetable garden the tomatoes for you salads. Regional and homemade dinners can be ordered in advance.
